Galiyat is generally known as the Hill Station area of Abbottabad. The name Galiyat is taken from its area that known as the Gali. Some areas of Galiyat are in the KPK side and some are in Punjab.

The amazing thing of galiyat mountains are that the heights of these mountain are 2400 m (8202) feet from sea level. In the winter season, Galiyat are more attractive and reachable point for tourist because of the snowfall. Snow completely cover these mountains and all the area of Galiyat.
Galiyat was first discovered by Major James Abbott who was the British army officer. Galiyat has very cold and stunning weather because in the summer season. The temperature is in between 10 to 18-degree centigrade and in winter season it's about -5.
